OverviewABOUT THE DOG is seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Intern to join our dynamic team of dog obsessed individuals. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media management and public relations within a fun and interesting environment within the pet industry. The ideal candidate will have a passion for digital communication, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to engage with diverse audiences across various platforms with goal orientated attitude. You will be working closely with the office managers and Managing Director to help and take over current marketing duties including content creation and helping to grow following while keeping the strong company brand and vision in mind.
You may be asked to travel to our other sites from time to time for content creation (expenses paid).
Responsibilities
Assist in the development and implementation of social media strategies to enhance brand awareness.
Create engaging content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.
Monitor daily social media channels for trends, comments, and feedback, responding appropriately to foster engagement.
Collaborate with the Managing Director to align social media campaigns with overall marketing objectives and company vision.
Conduct research on industry trends and competitor activities to inform content creation.
Help organise marketing emails and promote online events or campaigns.
Analyse social media metrics and prepare reports on performance to identify areas for improvement to the Managing Director.
Experience
Familiarity with social media management tools and analytics platforms is preferred.
Previous experience in public relations or communications is advantageous but not essential.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to create compelling content tailored to different audiences.
A proactive attitude with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
Being a lover of dogs is not essential but would be preferred!
