Reporting of the Role

This role reports to the Executive Producer, The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X

Overview of job

Radio X is home to the biggest personalities, and the best rock, indie, and alternative music.

In a monumental year for the genre, Radio X also celebrates it’s 10th birthday, and you’ll work with one of the world’s top broadcasters as Producer for The Chris Moyles Show.

In this role, you will create industry-leading output on the breakfast show on Radio X, working closely with the executive producer, audio and visual producers, presenter, and co-presenter. You will have an important role in driving forward the listener figures of the show. You will be key in developing innovative ideas to meet client briefs and create engaging premium rate ideas to drive revenue for the show and station.

In this role, you’ll be passionate about the music and culture that Radio X celebrates. You’ll produce the very best content with the show’s talent, bringing to life their ideas and devising your own tailored features and mechanics, ensuring that our output is always of the highest standards across all of our broadcast and digital platforms. We’re looking for big, head-turning, and innovative ideas, coupled with the ability to deliver them with an attention to detail, all in a way that engages our audience.

As a Producer at Global, you will:

Key Responsibilities

Create standout content (30%): Work directly with Chris Moyles, the executive producer, and show team to create exceptional and entertaining breakfast show content that keeps our listeners coming back for more.

Drive innovation and engagement (25%): Lead on fresh, head-turning ideas across broadcast and digital platforms. Develop creative branded content, premium-rate competitions, and celebrity-driven features.

Collaborate cross-functionally (25%): Connect with commercial, digital, and PR teams to bring projects to life. Be the bridge between departments, managing logistics, aligning goals, and ensuring smooth execution across the board.

Champion the Radio X audience (20%): Deeply understand our 25-44-year-old core listeners, their music tastes, and cultural leanings – and ensure everything we do reflects and excites them

What You’ll Love About This Role

Think Big: Be the creative force behind one of the UK’s most listened-to and talked-about radio shows – helping shape unforgettable moments every morning.

Own It: Take a lead role in developing and delivering top-tier content on air and across digital, with support from a talented and experienced production team. Keep it Simple: Cut through the noise with slick, streamlined show mechanics and features that resonate quickly and clearly with our audience.

Better Together: Work with incredible talent – from presenters to artists to industry leaders – and collaborate across all areas of Global, from PR to digital to commercial.

What Success Looks Like

In your first few months, you’ll have:

Built strong, collaborative relationships with Chris, the wider production team, and key stakeholders across Global.

Produced standout audio and visual content with artists, guests, and on-air talent.

Delivered exciting new ideas that engage listeners and grow our digital presence, including on Global Player.

Executed branded content and premium-rate campaigns that meet client briefs and station goals.

What You’ll Need

Experience: Extensive experience in media with a strong background in producing high-profile shows or talent.

Creativity: Proven ability to develop and execute fresh, innovative, and audience-first programming ideas.

Organisation: Impeccable attention to detail, time management, and ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Communication: Strong team player and collaborator, with top-tier written and verbal communication skills to bring ideas to life.

Passion: A love for Radio X’s music and culture – from indie and alternative rock to the listeners who live it.

How we hire

Got your eye on a role?

Submit application

If one of our roles has caught your eye, the first step is to submit your application. You’ll be asked for a CV, and sometimes a cover letter too. We love nothing more than seeing what you’re passionate about, so portfolios, videos and demos are always a great addition at this stage.

The process

If we think you’re a great fit, one of our team will get in touch for a chat. This will usually be an informal call, where we get to know each other a little better. After this, you’ll go into a first stage interview with the hiring team.

Interview and meet the team

This is where you’ll meet your potential manager, and some of your teammates. Sometimes these interviews include a task to complete ahead of time, which you’ll run through in the session. Aside from the task, it’s a good idea to look through our values and see how they align with your own. We also love questions — so don’t forget to use this as an opportunity to interview us too.

What’s next?

After all interviews are completed, we’ll get back to you as quickly as possible. This is usually within a few weeks of applying, and slightly longer for busier roles. If our stars align, our recruitment team will be in touch with the good news! They’ll talk you through the next steps, like signing your contract and the onboarding process. If you’re not successful this time round, it’s likely that you’d be great for another position so we would love to keep in touch!
